Page Markup Commands

Lines are automatically wrapped. Each blank line starts a new paragraph.

In addition, a simple markup language is recognized, similar in syntax to Unix troff. Dot-directives in the paragraph cause the following text to be handled specially.

Dot-directives must begin in the leftmost column with no preceding spaces, and affect the text following on the same line.

The most common dot-directives are:

.B bold text bold text
.I Italicized text Italicized text
.U underlined text underlined text

.S strikethrough text strikethrough text
.TT typewriter font text typewriter font text
.BR (line break, continue text on next line)

Posts

There are a few post formatting directives:

.POST 10/27 1:07pm - start a post
.ND - indented paragraph break
.SIG XYZ - append initials XYZ

Putting these together would look like
.POST 10/27 1:07pm
First paragraph of sample post.
.ND
Second indented paragraph of sample post.
.ND
Third indented paragraph of sample post.
.SIG XYZ

  • 10/27 1:07pm   First paragraph of sample post.
Second indented paragraph of sample post.
Third indented paragraph of sample post.
    - XYZ
