• 5/17 6:54pm "Gov. Patrick Comes to Norfolk" - We did it!! What a beautiful day it was! Thank you to all who came out and welcomed Gov. Deval Patrick to our town. He was touched that so many folks took the time to come and shared their afternoon with him.
Here are some photos that I took. I hope that you enjoy them. For me, this meeting was a good civics lesson in how a government really works. We live in a what we want to call a democracy. If we do not make the effort to communicate our wishes directly with our elected officials, then we cannot complain if we don't like what is happening in our towns, cities and our nation! A true democracy is government by the people. Saturday was what a democracy looks like!
It was truly heartening to see a real bipartisan group of people there in the Library. We CAN work together to make this town better for ALL of us if we are willing to take the time and the energy to show up and communicate with each other. Thank you for helping to make last Saturday's visit with Governor Patrick a success for all of us here in Norfolk!
