Thanks. I did note that approximately 10 eastern white pine trees were planted as screening between my property and that of the Senior Center. This seems to be in accordance with an early site design. I do not know what the longer term plans are but wanted to point out that the latest Planning Board decision on this subject (02-00 dated 8/29/00) requires that "multiple species of evergreens" be used. My recollection of the Planning Board meeting at the time was that two rows of alternating species would be installed. I've asked on several occassions for the Town to verify that the proper type of exterior lighting was installed. So far I haven't gotten an answer. The Settlement Agreement (Par 4) requires the Town to abide by the conditions of the ZBA Special Permit. That permit states "All exterior lighting fixtures shall incorporate screens and lenses which focus emitted light downward and in the concentrated, narrowly defined areas shown in the Lighting Plan." The light fixtures installed do not prevent the intense halid lamp source from emitting very significant glare in my direction. My neighbors and other abutters have all noted the same problem. The lack of adequate light source screening is a concern that has persisted since summertime. The Settlement Agreement requires that all grading and revegatation be performed before a final occupany permit is issued. I realize that narrowing of the entranceway is probably a big project and that landscaping is difficult during the winter. I do not want to stand in the way of occupany before springtime. While I cannot speak for the other abutters, I would be satisfied with a simple explanation of how and when the work will be done, and an assurance that the commitments made are indeed fully understood. If it would help, I'd be pleased to meet with the PBC. Ron Burke XXX Tucker Rd. [address removed by Webmaster]
