NCC Project Applications

The Norfolk Cultural Council is accepting applications until October 15 for support of community cultural projects and PASS funding, a ticket subsidy program for school-age children. A grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council enables this activity.

The Council is especially eager to sponsor programs that benefit and involve a wide variety of people in the community, emphasize diversity, and promise excellence. We consider the qualifications of the individuals and organizations involved, the planning process, and community interest and involvement. We also favor new and innovative programs over those that repeat for many years.

Individuals and organizations may apply for general support - projects such as workshops, lectures, exhibits, festivals, science education and artist projects - or for PASS funding to enable schools and youth groups to take students, pre-K-12, to cultural performances outside of school. Activities must take place in physically accessible facilities.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council is a state agency that supports public programs in the arts, sciences and humanities. This year's allocation is $2,000, level-funded from last year, but down from over $4,500 two years ago. We tell you this so that you will recognize the impact of the cuts, and so that you will plan your application carefully.

Applications and detailed guidelines are available at the Office of the Selectmen, Town Hall. They are also available online at www.massculturalcouncil.org. Look for the LLC Application Form or PASS Application Form, depending on your project. Completed forms must be delivered or submitted with a valid postmark by Oct. 15 to the Town Hall, One Liberty Lane, Norfolk 02056. For more information contact Shirley Boulay at 508-520-0348.
