Many Helped Ensure Success of Train Ride

The Norfolk Community League and the Norfolk Lions would like to take this opportunity to thank the many wonderful people who helped make the second annual Haunted Train and Hayride a spectacular success.

Under the guidance of our tireless committee; the decorating committee, the many evening volunteers, and the clean-up crew all helped contribute to the $3500.00 which was raised to benefit the Norfolk Grange Educational Programs. More than 1400 riders came to Holmes fields on October 25 to experience the thrills and terrors of the Haunted Train and Hayride. The participation exceeded our expectations!

We would like to thank Garelick Farms, Linda's Variety, the Garden Club, the King Philip Leo Club, and James' Roadside Cafe for their generous donations.

Additionally, this truly community event could not have taken place without the support and effort of the following: Norfolk Boy Scouts, Norfolk Fire Department, Norfolk Police Department, Norfolk Girl Scouts, Stony Brook, D.A.R.E., D.E.C.A., Sandra Myatt, Norfolk Lions, and Norfolk Community League. Many of these groups decorated a section of the train or hayride for the delight of the passengers.

Finally, a huge thank you goes to the Holmes family, for without their generous donation of the train, the hayride, and the grounds, the Haunted Train and Hayride would not have taken place. We are deeply indebted to their wonderful generosity.
